Old Lyme Cottage Renovation

2012 HOBI AWARD WINNER ~~ Best Vacation Home Remodel

This project included the total gut, lifting and renovation of this 1,700 sq. ft. summer cottage in the seaside community of Old Lyme.  This home's renovation plan was prepared by Point One Architects and Planners in Old Lyme. To meet the new FEMA guidelines, the home was required to be raised 2 1/2 feet.  Every inch of this charming home was carefully redesigned to provide optimum use, from built-in cabinetry and hide-away spaces, to a finished loft as a rainy day space for the kids.  Just to add a little intensity to the project, it had to be completed off season to abide by the community's summer hammer laws. The project was started in the late fall and the owners arrived to a new cottage in mid June!
